This is a very nice vertebrate fossil. It is a large Anosteria Turtle from China. This specimen was acquired from the Richard Busch Collection. Busch was the Preparator/Asst. Curator at the North Museum in Lancaster, PA from 1965-1992. This distinct marine turtle has a very nice shell pattern - it is easy to see the individual scutes that make up the carapace. The fossil has fine detail and great dark brown coloration preserved. This is cool soft-shell turtle fossil that was once a part of the Richard Busch Collection.
