Here is a very collectible echinoderm specimen from the Ordovician of Morocco. This plate contains a beautiful, large, true starfish and a very nice edrioasteroid. The distinct starfish exhibits gorgeous detail. The plate structure is wonderfully displayed, and all five of the long arms are intact - it is highly unusual to have all of the arms so nicely preserved. There is also a very nice, disc-shaped edrioasteroid preserved on top of the starfish! This is the first time I have ever seen an edrio attached to a starfish! The fossils have excellent, orange coloration that contrasts strikingly with the light tan matrix. The fossils are beautifully showcased on the large, natural-edged block of sandstone that contains other edrios and trilobite parts. And, remember, this starfish is almost three inches across! This is a highly collectible starfish/edrio fossil from North Africa.
