Here is a very displayable fossil from the Miocene of France. This is a double example of Turritella sp., a high-spired gastropod. These large gastropods are quite 3-dimensional and exhibit wonderful detail. The fine ornamentation of the fossils is clearly defined. The snails have great color and contrast and are naturally showcased on the thick block of sandstone matrix. This is a very displayable pair of classic Miocene gastropods from France.
