Here is an excellent specimen of a Devonian brachiopod. This is a Leptaena sp. from the Devonian of Oklahoma. The inflated brachiopod is quite 3-dimensional and extremely detailed - the shell displays the definitive horseshoe shaped growth lines in fine fashion. The dark fossil contrasts nicely with the almost-white matrix. The distinct brachiopod is aesthetically showcased on the nice block of marlstone. This is a very displayable specimen of an ornate Devonian brachiopod.
