Here is a unusual cephalopod. This is Goniatites choctawensis (?) from the Pennsylvanian of Oklahoma. Pennsylvanian cephalopods are highly collectible - there are not many locations in the world where nice Pennsylvanian cephalopods are found. This cephalopod displays well in the surrounding rock. The classic goniatitic sutures of the 3-dimensional cephalopod are nicely exhibited, and the natural coloration of the fossil is quite striking. This is a collectible specimen of an unusual Pennsylvanian cephalopod from the Sooner State.
