This is a very nice Mississippian trilobite. It is a fine Ameropiltonia lauradanae from the Choteau Formation of Missouri. As everyone knows, complete Carboniferous trilobites are quite rare. This bug is well preserved and quite distinct. The fossil is outstretched, has very good color and contrast, and is well showcased on the small marlstone block. This is a nice, prone example of an Ameropiltonia trilobite.
