This is a very attractive ammonite. It is a large Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This ammonite has been cut in half and both halves have been highly polished. The coiling pattern of the mollusk is easily seen, and the individual chambers are wonderfully defined. The cream-colored suture lines contrast beautifully with the darker chambers of the ammonite making for a beautiful display. This is an exciting display specimen of Cleoniceras from Madagascar.
