This is a very attractive ammonite. It is a large Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This distinct ammonite has been cut in half and both halves have been highly polished. The coiling pattern of the mollusk is easily seen, and the individual chambers are wonderfully defined. Many of the chambers of the ammonite are hollow and crystal-lined. This is an exciting display specimen of Cleoniceras from Madagascar.
