This is a wonderful specimen of Lonchodomas suriensis from the Ordovician of Argentina. This type of trilobite has a short, wide cephalon and a wide, triangular pygidium. This specimen is nicely articulated and exhibits fine detail. Even the long left genal spine is evident. The trilobite has great color and contrasts beautifully with the matrix. The bug is well showcased on the natural plate of shale. This is an excellent example of this elusive trilobite from South America.

Note: Argentina has now banned the export of all fossils. We will strictly abide by and enforce this law - we will not acquire new fossils from Argentina. However, this fossil was collected and exported prior to this law, and can be sold legally.
