This is a colorful specimen of Hoploscaphites nicolletti from the Cretaceous of South Dakota. The fossil cephalopod is extremely inflated and complete all the way down to the aperture. The iridescent mother-of-pearl shell is beautifully displayed - it almost looks opalized! This is a very colorful ammonite from the Fox Hills Formation.
