Here is a nicely detailed example of Simbirskites sp. from the Cretaceous of Russia. This type of ammonite is coarsely ribbed and has very large whorls. This specimen is wonderfully 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. The inner whorls of the ammonite are easily seen, and the many distinct ribs are intact. The lustrous nacre of the shell has great color and contrasts nicely with the natural matrix. The fossil is well showcased on the small piece of concretionary matrix. This is a very displayable specimen of an unusual ammonite from Russia.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally. A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
