This is a rare vertebrate fossil. It is a fossil turtle scute bitten by a Cretaceous Crocodile. This is one plate of the many plates that make up the turtle's shell. This specimen has two very detailed puncture marks made by Croc's teeth (hard to see in photo). The bite has been verified - the paperwork on the specimen is included. This is a amazing example of predation in the fossil record.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
