This is a very cool Fossil Cone from the Sahara Desert of Morocco. This Eocene cone has been replaced by silica and is quite distinct. The fossil has been removed from the surrounding matrix so that it can be viewed from all angles. The cone is preserved in a very 3-dimensional manner and exhibits very fine detail - the individual cone scales/seeds are very well defined. And the back side is also quite nice. This is a wonderful example of this rare fossil plant from Morocco.
