This is a very cool plant fossil. It is a striking split pair fossil fern plate from Pennsylvania. This specimen is replaced with the mineral Pyrophyllite, which gives the fossil its stunning white color. Only an elite few layers from this site have the bright white ferns, and this piece is from those layers. This large piece was split open to not only reveal white ferns, but both halves display two killer fern fronds, of two different types! How many collections has a fern piece like this one? This is an extremely collectible split pair slab of fossil fern fronds from Pennsylvania.
