Here is a very nice multiple plate of European cephalopods. This is a large cluster of Dactylioceras ammonites from the Jurassic of Germany. This is a natural piece - there have been no ammonites added or composited. The ammonites are inflated and exhibit fine detail. The individual cephalopods have a very rounded keel and display extremely fine ribbing. The ammonites all show the smaller, inner whorls, which is quite unusual. The yellowish fossils contrast wonderfully with the dark brown matrix. This is a very displayable block of Dactylioceras ammonites from Germany.
