Here is a nice Pennsylvanian plant fossil. It is a pair of Seed Fern Fronds from the famous Mazon Creek deposits of Illinois. These distinct Seed Ferns are well preserved in a siderite concretion. Both halves of the concretion are present, so both part and counterpart are intact. The fossil plants exhibit wonderful detail. The central stems are clearly defined, and the individual leaflets are beautifully displayed. The fossil has great, natural color and contrast. This is a very uncommon double example of fossil Seed Ferns from the Coal Age.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
