This is a very large slice of a rare pallasite meteorite. It is a beautiful slice of the Seymchan Pallasite. Seymchan was originally found in 1967, and because the specimen found had no olivine, it was classified as a rare, IIE Iron. A recent expedition has recovered several more specimens, including some that contain olivine crystals, making this a rare, stable pallasite! This specimen showcases the olivine crystals beautifully. The entire slice makes for a striking display. This is a massive example of this unusual pallasite mateorite.
