This is a fabulous fossil fish plate from the Green River Shale. The larger fish on the plate is an excellent Mioplosus labracoides. This predatory fish is very long (almost 10 inches long!) and extremely detailed. There is also a cool, complete herring, Diplomystus dentatus, fossilized laying on top of the Mioplosus! Both of the fish have wonderful natural color and superb detail preserved. The fish display beautifully on the large, semi-rectangular slab of shale. This is an extremely impressive and collectible display plate of two different fossil fish from Wyoming.
