This is an excellent fossil fish. It is a distinct Knightia eocaena from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. The fossil fish is extremely well preserved and exhibits wonderful detail. The eye socket is easily seen, the fins and tail are well defined, and the backbone is quite evident. This fish has nice, dark coloration and contrasts nicely with the cream-colored rock. The fossil is well showcased on the semi-rectangular matrix plate. This is a beautiful display example of a fossil fish from Wyoming.
