This is a very affordable fossil fish. It is a complete tropical fish from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. Due to political unrest, specimens from this site are becoming very difficult to obtain. This complete fish exhibits good detail - the backbone, fins, and tail are wonderfully displayed, and the eye socket of the fish is well defined. The fossil has nice reddish-orange coloration that contrasts well with the light-colored matrix. The fish is well showcased on the plate of sublithographic limestone that also contains a partial fish. This is an cool specimen of a salt water fish from the time of the dinosaurs!
