This is a very interesting plate of fossil fish from the Eocene of Wyoming. There are three very nice Knightia eocaena on the plate. All of the fish exhibit very good detail. The bone structures are well displayed and the eye sockets are easily seen. The orangish-brown color of the fish is natural, and the contrast with the cream-colored matrix is outstanding. The fish are naturally positioned on the semi-rectangular plate of shale - they are all touching each other, which is pretty cool! This is a very fine display plate of three fossil fish from the Green River Formation.
