This is a great display fossil fish. It is a very large Phareodus fossil fish from Wyoming. Phareodus was a predatory fish, with a mouth full of sharp teeth. This specimen showcases these teeth beautifully. The fish is very well preserved and has extremely fine detail. The fins and tail are simply awesome - very complete and symmetrical. The bone structure is very well  preserved on this specimen. The fish is well displayed on the large matrix plate. And, remember, this fish is almost 13 inches long - WOW! This is a very impressive predatory Phareodus from the Green River Formation.
