This is a complete specimen of Priscacara serrata from the Eocene of Wyoming. The large fossil fish has natural orange color that contrasts beautifully with the cream-colored matrix. The fish has nice bone structure and fine fin detail - the dorsal fin is wonderful, and even the tail is fully defined. The fish is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular plate of matrix that has been professionally framed for optimal display. This is a wonderful framed example of this classic fossil fish from the Green River Formation.
