This is a fabulous fossil fish plate from the Green River Shale. The larger fish on the plate is an excellent Mioplosus labracoides. This fish is very long (over 8 inches long!) and extremely detailed. There is also a cool, complete herring, Knightia eocaena, fossilized on the plate. Both of the fish have wonderful color and superb contrast preserved . The fish display beautifully on the large, semi-squared slab of shale. This is an extremely collectible and aesthetic display plate of two different fossil fish from Wyoming.
