This is an excellent fossil insect. It is a large unidentified Cockroach (Blattodea) from China. This specimen has dark natural color and great contrast. The detail is superb - the antennae and legs are easily seen, and the wing pattern is even preserved. The roach is nicely centered on a large 7'' X 12'' plate of matrix that even has a nearly complete fossil fish on the back side! This is a very collectible insect fossil from the Jurassic - the Age of the Dinosaurs!
