This is a distinct specimen of Priscacara serrata from the Eocene of Wyoming. The fossil fish has nice orange-brown color and contrasts well with the cream-colored matrix. The fish has great bone structure and excellent fin detail, especially on the large dorsal fin. The fish is well showcased on the large, rectangular plate of oilshale. This is a very nice example of this classic fossil fish from the Green River Formation.
