This is a beautiful fossil fish from the world-famous Solnhofen Limestone. This is a fine specimen of Tharsis dubius from the Jurassic of Germany. This large specimen has been cleaned by hand with fine needles. This unusual fish is extremely well articulated - the vertebrae are all in place and bone structure displays fine form. The small fins of the fish are very nicely preserved. The fish has good color and fine contrast and is well positioned on a large slab of lithographic limestone. This is a very displayable specimen of this unusual fish from a classic European location.
