Here is a very displayable crinoid. This is Agaricocrinus americanus from the Mississippian of Indiana. This type of camerate crinoid has a bulbous-plated cup that is slightly concave at the bottom with heavy, biserial arms. This 3-dimensional specimen displays both of these features extremely well - even the fine pinnules of the stout arms are can be seen. The fossil has beautiful color and contrasts well with the tannish matrix. The fossil sea lily is well showcased on the rectangular plate of matrix. This is a beautiful specimen of a ventral Agaricocrinus from Crawfordsville, Indiana.
