This is a large specimen of Dizygocrinus biturbinatus from the Mississippian of Illinois. This camerate crinoid has a cup composed of many plates and long, biserial arms. The plate structure is well defined and the arms are unusually complete and curve inward near the top. A lengthy stem is still tightly attached to the cup of the crinoid. The fossil has wonderful color and contrast and is well presented on the nice plate of siltstone. This is a cool, long-stemmed crinoid from the Warsaw Formation.
