This is a stunning display fossil. It is a large Phareodus fossil fish from the Eocene of Wyoming. Phareodus was a predatory fish, with a mouth full of sharp teeth. This specimen even exhibits those teeth beautifully. The fish is very well-preserved and has extremely fine detail. The bone structure is easily seen, and even the scale pattern of the fish is somewhat evident. The fins and tail are simply awesome - very complete and symmetrical. The individual fin rays are wonderfully defined. The fish has outstanding natural color and contrast and is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular plate of shale. And remember, this specimen has been professionally framed and is ready to hang! This is an excellent specimen of Phareodus testis that would look great displayed on anyone's wall.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
