Here is a textbook crinoid from Adams County, Illinois. A wonderful example of Dizygocrinus originarius is preserved on the plate. This crinoid is beautifully displayed, with the arms extended and the long stem present, which is very unusual. The fossil echinoderm has good color and contrast and is nicely showcased on the rectangular plate of limestone. This is a beautiful crinoid from a classic crinoid locality.
