This is a very nice pair of crinoid holdfasts from the Waldron Shale of Indiana. The quarry where this specimen was found is now filled with water. These distinct holdfasts are extremely 3-dimensional and exhibits wonderful detail. The stem attachment points are very easily seen. The long, branching ''roots'' are beautifully displayed. The fossils have great color and contrast and are well showcased on the large, natural plate of limestone. This is a very uncommon example of two associated crinoid holdfasts from the Silurian sea.
