This is a very distinct crinoid holdfast associated with other fossils from the Waldron Shale of Indiana. The quarry where this specimen was found  was recently filled with water and closed to collecting. This large holdfast is extremely 3-dimensional and exhibits wonderful detail. The stem attachment point is easily seen, and the branching ''roots'' are beautifully displayed. There are also many other fossils on the plate. The fossils have great color and contrast and are well showcased on the rectangular plate. This is a fabulous example of a large crinoid holdfast from the Silurian sea.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
