Here is a superb example of a rare crinoid. This is a beautiful example of Abrotocrinus unicus from the Mississippian of Indiana. This fossil crinoid is extremely 3-dimensional and exhibits wonderful detail. The plate structure of this inadunate crinoid is beautifully defined, and the finely-pinnulated , uniserial arms have been prepared in high relief. A long section of the stem is still attached. The creamish-colored fossil contrasts nicely with the blue-grey matrix. The sea lily is almost perfectly centered on the large plate of siltstone. This is a very aesthetic crinoid from the famous site near Crawfordsville, Indiana.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
