This is a spectacular example of Pellecrinus hexadactylus from the Mississippian of Indiana. From the DeRosear Collection, this extremely rare crinoid is very 3-dimensional and very well articulated. The crinoid has great detail - the cup has beautiful plate structure, and the multi-branching arms are complete down to the very small tips. The branching of the arms is quite distinct on this genus of crinoid. The crinoid has a very nice, LONG stem still attached. The ancient sea lily is well showcased on a rectangular slab of siltstone that also contains an excellent Agaricocrinites splendens crown. This is a very collectible and displayable specimen of this unusual crinoid from the DeRosear Collection.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
