Here is a very unusual crinoid that we recently acquired from a major fossil collector. It is a wonderful Eucalyptocrinus elrodi from the Silurian of Indiana. The site where this specimen was found is now filled with water. This inflated crinoid has excellent detail - the plate structure of the cup is fabulous, and the arms are beautifully displayed, which is quite unusual. The pustulation preserved on this echinoderm is just exquisite. There is also a large section of stem still attached. The brown color of the fossil contrasts beautifully with the grey matrix. The crinoid is well showcased on the natural plate of shale. This is a very collectible specimen of Eucalyptocrinites elrodi from the Waldron Shale.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
