Here is a great piece of Baltic Amber from the Eocene amber deposits of Russia. There are four Long-Legged Flies (Dolichopodidae) trapped in the fossilized tree resin. The distinct nugget of amber has been highly polished on all sides, and the exquisite detail of the insects is beautifully displayed. Just look at the pictures! The insects are very easily seen in the light-yellow piece of fossil ''ooze''. This is an exciting specimen of Baltic Amber with a swarm of Long-Legged Flies wonderfully preserved.
