This is a very attractive plate of Canadian crinoids. These are Archaeocrinus sp. and Cupulocrinus humilis from Ontario. There are three specimens of Cupulocrinus on the slab. This type of crinoid has a somewhat cone-shaped cup composed of large plates and multi-branching, uniserial arms. These crinoids exhibit fine detail - the plate structure and arms are easily seen. The crinoid on the right of the plate is Archaeocrinus, an unusual Canadian crinoid with a huge cup. All of the cream-colored crinoids contrast wonderfully with the dark grey matrix. The fossils are beautifully showcased on the large, rectangular plate of dense limestone. And, best of all, they are totally natural to the piece - they have not been composited. This is a very displayable plate of Ordovician crinoids.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
