This is a very unusual insect in amber. It is a complete Wood Aphid (Homoptera) from the Baltic Coast of Russia. This specimen has very fine detail - the the long legs and antennae display beautifully. The Aphid is preserved in a very large amber piece that also contains a flower stamen and other insects. This is a very nice example of this uncommon insect trapped in ancient resin (large close-up photo is included for free).
