Here is a very attractive crinoid. This is Agaricocrinus splendens from the Mississippian of Indiana. This ancient sea lily is very 3-dimensional and exhibits wonderful detail. This large crinoid has extremely long, stout arms that are biserial in nature. This specimen displays the arms in beautiful fashion - they are uncommonly complete to the very tips and exhibit beautiful pinnulation. The fossil has outstanding color - the brown crinoid contrasts wonderfully with the yellow-tan matrix. The fossil is nicely showcased on the large, rectangular plate of siltstone. And the LONG stem of the crinoid displays beautifully. This is a very complete example of Agaricocrinus from Crawfordsville, Indiana.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
