This is an amazing multiple crinoid plate from Gilmore City, Iowa. This classic location has been closed to collecting for a number of years, ever since some drunken fool drove his car over the wall of the quarry. However, we have acquired a lot of crinoids from a local collector who had them stashed away for decades. The plate has SEVENTEEN(!) crinoids on the slab (12 Eretmocrinus tentor, 4 Dichocrinus multiplex, and a Cercidocrinus cirrifer. The plate is just teeming with crinoids (the photo does not do the fossil justice!). The crinoids are beautifully displayed, many with LONG stems present. The fossil echinoderms have great color and contrast and are naturally positioned on the rectangular plate of limestone. This is one of the most prolific crinoid multiples we have seen from this classic locality. (The red dots are used for identification.)

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
