This is a very important plant fossil in amber. It is a large Dicotyledon in Dominican Amber. The thorn on this Dicotyledon proves that Oligocene plants had developed thorns to ward off potential threats. This is an important find in the fossil record. This specimen also has long, leafy extentions. The plant is very detailed, and has a nice brown color preserved. The Dicotyledon is EASILY seen in the large amber nugget.
