Here is a rare Spider fighting a Springtail preserved in Dominican Amber from the Oligocene of the Dominican Republic. This large nugget of fossilized tree resin has been highly polished on all sides for optimal display. The spider seen dominating the poor Springtail...unkle! The insects are beautifully preserved and exhibit wonderful detail - the entire insects are clearly defined. This is a very fine example of an arachnid/insect interaction that is millions of years old! (small close-up photo is included for free).
