Here is an extremely rare insect in amber. It is an extinct Praying Mantis trapped in Dominican Amber. This is one of the hardest insects to find trapped in Dominican Amber - and one of the most sought-after. This specimen is very distinct, with the classic ''praying'' arms fully intact. The detail on the head is just fantastic. The Praying Mantis is very easily seen in the large amber piece, along with a Flower, a Larva, and a Biting Midge. This is one of the rarest and most collectible amber fossils that we have ever had (small close-up photo is included for free).
