This is an amazing swarm of insects in amber. This specimen was found in the famous Amber Mines of the Dominican Republic. There are 10 identifiable insects and arachnids trapped in this amber nugget! There are three Winged Termites, two Spiders, two Gall Midges, a Bark Louse, a Leafhopper, and a Beetle entombed in the amber. One look at the close-up of the amber piece and you can see how densely packed with inclusions it is. This is an incredible assemblage of many different organisms, grouped together for eternity (two different close-up photos are included for free).
