This is a nice example of the ''nodding crinoid'', Halysiocrinus nodosus. It is presumed that the stem was anchored to the sea bottom and ran parallel to the surface of the sea floor. The crinoid crown then ''nodded'' on the end of the stem just slightly above the sea floor. This specimen is very nicely presented on the matrix. The fossil has good color and contrast and displays very well on the plate of siltstone that also contains another crinoid. This is a fine example of a fossilized ''nodding crinoid''.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
