This is a museum qulaity plant fossil. It is a double Seed Fern Frond from the Pennsylvanian (Upper Carboniferous) of Germany. Both fronds are side by side and even have the complete tips intact, which is extremely rare. The specimen has been meticulously prepared by hand so that the fossil plants are in high relief - they almost appear to be floating on top of the matrix. The central stems are easily seen, and the individual leaflets are beautifully displayed. The fossils have outstanding natural color and contrast and are well presented on the somewhat squared plate of dense shale. This is a beautiful and very collectible specimen of complete fossil fern fronds from the Coal Age of Europe.
