What a spectacular display slab of fossil seed ferns! This plate of fern fronds is from the Coal Age of France. It is incredibly difficult to obtain fossil fern fronds of this large size. Also, the fronds are not scattered haphazardly across the matrix, but are articulated and attached to a large branch. The ferns also have excellent detail and are very 3-dimentional for this type. This is, truly, a ''museum display specimen'' of seed fern fronds from the Pennsylvanian forest floor of Europe.
