This is a very rare inclusion in amber. It is a fossil Acacia Flower trapped in Dominican Amber. Plants, especially flowers, are rare occurrences in amber - they had to fall in or be blown into the resin, whereas insects could crawl or fly into the sap. This fine specimen has exquisite detail. The tangle of individual stamens are quite distinct, and the ornamented petals are very well preserved. The large flower is easily seen in the polished piece of fossilized tree resin. This is a fabulous example of an extremely scarce flower preserved in Domincan Amber (small close-up photo included for free).
