This is a nice crinoid plate from the Mississippian of Indiana. The crinoid in the center of the plate is Agaricocrinus splendens. This crinoid exhibits excellent detail. The plate structure of the cup is well defined. The stout, biserial arms display fine pinnulation. There is a section of stem still attached to the crinoid. Above the Agaricocrinus is a specimen of Macrocrinus mundulus. This crinoid also shows fine detail. The echinoderms are very 3-dimensional. They have very nice color and contrast well with the gray matrix. This is a very affordable multiple crinoid plate.
